Abandoned Buildings In Lake Elsinore Poised For New Life
The proposed project on Riverside Drive will come before the Lake Elsinore Planning Commission on May 18.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA โ Two abandoned buildings on a well-traveled Lake Elsinore roadway are slated to become the site of a new Sunny Express Carwash.
On Tuesday, the Lake Elsinore Planning Commission will consider a proposal to demolish the buildings at 31401 Riverside Drive and construct the 5,436-square-foot carwash.
The project would develop approximately 1.26-acres of the 2.45-acre property, according to city documents.

The proposed single-story carwash design includes a giant carwash tunnel, 348 square feet of office space, and a 469-square-foot mechanical room. Thirty parking spaces and approximately 8,451 square feet of landscaping are planned at the site. A 6-foot-high wrought iron fence is proposed on each side of the business, while a 6-foot-high block wall is slated at the rear of the property, city documents show.
Access to the carwash would be on Riverside Drive. A traffic scoping agreement prepared by TJW Engineering, Inc. determined the project will not have significant effects on traffic, according to city documents.
