AUVSI TOP Level three pilots in Southern California

Desi Ekstein, Wyatt Woolsey, and Patrick Foster are now 3 of 26 AUVSI Trusted Operator Program Level 3 Certified Pilots in the US!

AUVSI Trusted Operator Program or "TOP" is a program to implement UAS (Drone) safety. The program elevates standards for the UAS industry to accepted remote pilot standards and protocols.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) hosted the AUVSI PFA (practical flight assessment) in Lake Elsinore, CA January 27, 2020. Dr. Burgess and Dr. Cerrata were the Embry-Riddle professors conducting the assessments.

With the growing number of UAS in the air, it is imperative that safety protocols be implemented. Each of the individuals plan to promote the AUVSI TOP program and educate others in their industry.

Desi Ekstein is currently an Adjunct UAS Instructor for TCI MiraCosta College and a STEM educator. She is the owner of On The Go Video.biz where she offers personal safety training workshops. She also is a UAS FAA Safety Representative (Drone Pro) involved with several outreach programs to promote drone safety and awareness.

Wyatt Woolsey, Lone Wolf Logistics, offers critical infrastructure training in UAS and their protocols and is a UAS service provider for the oil and gas industry. He is an ITC certified sUAS Thermographer and is Pix4D photogrammetry certified. Wyatt is also involved with outreach programs for UAS safety and education.

Patrick Foster, Nederveld Inc., is based near the Grand Rapids Michigan area and is the team lead of UAS services. Nederveld Inc. provides forensic investigations as well as training for fire departments throughout Michigan.

All three pilots will be promoting UAS safety and the AUVSI TOP program.
