Child Sexual Abuse Investigation Leads To Lake Elsinore Arrest

Detectives were investigating alleged sexual abuse of a child at a Lake Elsinore home.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA โ€” A Lake Elsinore man suspected of sexually assaulting a child has been arrested, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced.

Walter Anibal Perez Orozco, 53, was taken into custody early Tuesday morning and booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta on suspicion of lewd acts with a child under 14, lewd acts with a child under 14 with force, and oral copulation with a child under 10, jail records show. He was being held in lieu of $1 million bail and was due in court Thursday.

According to the sheriff's department, Lake Elsinore detectives were investigating alleged sexual abuse of a child at a home in the 100 block of Prospect Street and determined Perez Orozco was the suspect.

Investigators caught up with Perez Orozco "at his new residence" and detained him without incident, according to the sheriff's department. He was arrested at 6 a.m. Tuesday on N. Poe Street.

The sheriff's department did not provide further details. The suspect's relationship to the child, if any, was not specified.
