What mentor taught about success: Coach P was my head coach at Millikan HS, whom I then coached under at Elsinore. There isn’t a day that goes by where his influence on my life isn’t felt. Coach P taught me that to be successful you have to push and challenge yourself - to silence “the little man” inside telling you “you can’t”.

What mentor taught about dealing with failure: Coach P taught me that failure - or even success - won’t define you, it’s how you RESPOND to those moments of failure that ultimately define you. Also, that when we fail, we are never alone - that iron will sharpen iron, and we will remain resilient.

Best advice from mentor: Hands down, the single greatest peace of advice Coach P ever instilled in me was “Do all things with Excellence and Integrity”. That word integrity is often forgot now days with people doing anything they can to get ahead, but with Coach P it was at the forefront of everything we did. I am who I am today because of Coach Peralta.
