SWR Man Killed In I-15 Crash, CHP Says
UPDATE: The CHP says a man lost control of his SUV and rolled down an embankment.

WILDOMAR, CA โ A 63-year-old Wildomar man died in a crash Tuesday after losing control of his SUV on the rain-slicked freeway, the California Highway Patrol reports.
The wreck was first reported at 11:17 a.m. right by the I-15 onramp at Bundy Canyon Road, according to the CHP.
Officer Mike Lassig said the driver was headed south on I-15 in the slow lane when his 2017 Toyota Highlander veered to the right, crossed the shoulder of the freeway and then plunged down an embankment leading to Bundy Canyon.

"[The Highlander] traveled down the dirt embankment and began to roll over," Lassig said in a news release. "[It] rolled over onto Bundy Canyon Road before coming to a stop in the eastbound traffic lanes."
Reports from the scene indicated the vehicle was "crushed" and a coroner's official was called to the location shortly after the wreck.

No other vehicles were involved. The Wildomar resident's name was not immediately released.
Lassig said that Bundy Canyon was partially closed while the wreckage was cleared and officers conducted a preliminary investigation. The closure was lifted after several hours.
