DUI Checkpoint Results In Lake Elsinore
The checkpoint was held at Railroad Canyon and Church streets, from 8 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A DUI checkpoint held in Lake Elsinore over the weekend netted a total of 31 citations, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced Monday.
The checkpoint was held at Railroad Canyon and Church streets, from 8 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday.
During the checkpoint, deputies out of the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station were looking for drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (including prescription medications).

During the 6-hour period, 1,166 vehicles were screened. Among the 31 citations and hundreds of stops, the sheriff's department reported:
- 15 citations for unlicensed drivers
- 3 citations for suspended license
- 5 driving under the influence arrests
- 11 vehicles were towed
- 2 felony arrest warrants were served
- 44 pounds of processed marijuana was seized
Drivers charged with DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license, according to the department.
