Gas Price Near Elisnore Records Largest Increase Since April 27
Experts say demand is up ahead of the Independence Day holiday travel period.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA โ The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County recorded its largest increase since April 27 Friday, rising 1.2 cents to $3.644 after decreasing 37 of the past 38 days.
The average price is 2.6 cents less than one week ago and 27.8 cents lower than one month ago but 2.4 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
"Los Angeles wholesale gasoline prices jumped this week on news that after five weeks of inventory buildup on the West Coast, gasoline supplies declined in the last week," said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.

"Demand is being at least partially fueled by the all-time record 3.5 million Southern Californians expected to travel over the Independence Day holiday, a 3.9% increase from last year."
