No Foul Play Suspected After Person Found Dead In Lake Elsinore

The incident was reported Wednesday afternoon on Grand Avenue at the Ortega Highway.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA โ€” A person found dead in a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Lake Elsinore was not the victim of foul play, according to a Riverside County Sheriff's Department sergeant.

Around 1:16 p.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore station were called to the area of Grand Avenue and the Ortega Highway to check the welfare of an unresponsive driver, Sgt. Lionel Murphy said.

Deputies forced entry into the vehicle and determined the person was dead, according to Murphy.

"No foul play is suspected," the sergeant continued. "The cause of death is still under investigation. The decedentโ€™s identity is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification."

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department provided assistance during the incident.
