Heat Advisory Issued For Southwest Riverside County

For the first time this year, the mercury will near the century mark.

SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA โ€” The first heat advisory of 2020 has been issued for Southwest Riverside County by the National Weather Service.

The advisory takes effect at 11 a.m. Friday and will last through 6 p.m. Saturday as hot temperatures and sunny skies are forecast for the region.

Daytime highs will reach the low to mid 90s Friday and Saturday throughout the Southwest Riverside County cities of Canyon Lake, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Murrieta and Temecula, according to the NWS.

Friday's overnight low will dip to the low 60s.

A slight cooling trend will begin Sunday. Daytime highs are forecast to reach the mid to high 80s for much of next week.

Temperatures will meet or exceed the century mark across the Coachella Valley over the next several days, with the hottest day coming Saturday when the mercury will rise to 104.
