I-15 Lane, Ramp Closures Planned Nightly In Lake Elsinore

The closures are needed as construction on the $31 million I-15/Railroad Canyon Road interchange​ project continues.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Nighttime ramp and lane closures will continue next week on northbound and southbound I-15 through Lake Elsinore as part of the $31 million I-15/Railroad Canyon Road interchange project, the Riverside County Transportation Commission announced.

Lane closures will also occur nightly, Tuesday through Friday, on Grape Street and Railroad Canyon Road, the agency said.

Crews have been on site all week, and lane closures will wrap up early Saturday morning before work resumes again Monday night. From 9 p.m. Friday, July 24, to 7 a.m. Saturday, July 25, motorists can expect on- and off-ramp closures at Railroad Canyon Road on both sides of the freeway, as well as intermittent I-15 lane closures between Bundy Canyon Road and Main Street.

Motorists are reminded that the speed limit on I-15 is reduced to 60 mph in the project area.

About the I-15/Railroad Canyon Road interchange project:

The Riverside County Transportation Commission, in partnership with Caltrans and the City of Lake Elsinore, is upgrading the Interstate 15 Railroad Canyon Interchange in Lake Elsinore. RCTC is the lead agency for this project.

The project is designed to improve safety and capacity by adding lanes, modifying ramps, and building sidewalks and bike lanes along Railroad Canyon Road.
