Increased Noise, Lane Closures At Railroad Canyon Road/15 Freeway

Construction crews continue work on the I-15/Railroad Canyon Road interchange project in Lake Elsinore.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA โ€” Daily intermittent lane closures will continue this week along Summerhill Drive and Grape Street at Railroad Canyon Road in Lake Elsinore for curb and gutter work as part of the $31 million I-15/Railroad Canyon Road interchange project.

Community members may also notice increased daytime noise during the next two to three weeks as crews drive piles for the widening of the Railroad Canyon bridge at the 15 freeway, according to the Riverside County Transportation Commission.

The I-15/Railroad Canyon Road interchange project, which broke ground earlier this year, is intended to improve safety and reduce congestion at the busy Lake Elsinore interchange. The project includes two new lanes on Railroad Canyon Road through the interchange; reconstruction of northbound ramps; construction of auxiliary and deceleration lanes on I-15; and improved sidewalks and bike lanes through the interchange.
