July 4 2021 Fireworks Show OK'd In Lake Elsinore

The city is ready to resume its annual Independence Day celebration.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA โ€” The July 4, 2020 "Fireworks Spectacular" show didn't go off as planned in Lake Elsinore due to COVID-19, but this year the city is ready to resume the popular celebration.

On April 13, Lake Elsinore City Council signed off on the event and waived normal bid procedures. Rialto-based Pyro Spectaculars, which the city said is the only fireworks show supplier in the region, will once again handle this year's event at a cost not to exceed $42,000.

Pyro Spectaculars performs fireworks shows for many surrounding communities and organizations, including the Lake Elsinore Storm, according to city documents.

City Council also signed off on approximately $24,000 for other show-related costs, such as law enforcement, equipment rentals, and city staff time.

The 2021 event will feature the annual Party in the Park event โ€” traditionally held at Summerly Park โ€” with support from the Lake Elsinore Chamber and the Lake Elsinore Rotary.

A "Light Up the Night Boat Parade" is also on tap this year โ€” an event that sets Lake Elsinore apart from other Southwest Riverside County communities, according to city documents.

Fireworks viewing areas will be located around the lake, including Summerly Park, Elm Grove Beach (Swick & Matich Park), Launch Pointe, and other city areas. A limited number of people will be able to purchase a one-time โ€œNight Boat Passโ€ to view the show on the water, according to the city documents.

This year, the Lake Elsinore Storm will be playing home games at Diamond Stadium over the July 4 holiday and fireworks will be part of the entertainment. City staff is working with Storm officials to ensure there is no overlap between the stadium fireworks and those over the lake, according to city documents.

More information about Lake Elsinore's 2021 Fireworks Spectacular is expected in the coming weeks.
