Lake Elsinore Motorcyclist Injured, Hit-And-Run Driver Sought

The CHP is seeking the male driver of a 2006 gray four-door Ford F-250 truck.

MEADOWBROOK, CA โ€” A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash Wednesday evening on state Route 74, and the California Highway Patrol is seeking the public's help in finding the person who allegedly crashed into him and left the scene.

The crash was reported around 6:15 p.m. on the highway at Hammack Avenue in unincorporated area between Lake Elsinore and Meadowbrook.

The 24-year-old motorcyclist from Lake Elsinore was riding westbound on SR-74 aboard a dirt bike with no lights when a male driver behind the wheel of an eastbound 2006 gray four-door Ford F-250 truck made a left turn onto Hammack, according to CHP Officer Mike Lassig.

The truck driver hit the motorcyclist at the intersection, causing the rider to be thrown from the 1985 Suzuki bike. The rider landed in the intersection.

The Ford driver parked the truck in the roadway of northbound Hammack Avenue and fled on foot. A witness who saw the crash and the truck driver fleeing was not able to provide a description of the person, Lassig continued.

The motorcyclist was transported to Wildomar's Inland Valley Medical Center with major injuries, Lassig said.
