Lake Elsinore Teacher Accused Of Sexual Relationship With Student

LAKE ELSINORE, CA -- A Lake Elsinore teacher was arrested Friday for allegedly having an eight-month-long, improper relationship with a student, who is now an adult, police said. Police said officers received a tip on Oct. 25 that Russell Warren Strange, 54, of Canyon Lake, may have had a sexual relationship with the student.

Detectives investigated the claim and arrested Strange on Friday at Temescal Canyon High School. He was taken to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station.

Strange faces multiple counts of unlawful sex with minor, lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14, oral copulation with a minor under 16, and other charges. Strange was later booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center.
