Lake Elsinore Team Wins National Skydiving Championships
Elsinore Revolution, which is based at Skydive Elsinore, won for its 4-way rotation and 2-way sequential canopy formation.
LAKE ELSINORE, CA – A Lake Elsinore team last week won two gold medals at the U.S. Parachute Association National Parachuting Championships in Florida, officials announced. Elsinore Revolution, which is based at Skydive Elsinore, won for its 4-way rotation and 2-way sequential canopy formation.
In canopy formation skydiving, teams of either two or four skydivers deploy their parachutes immediately after jumping from the plane and build formations as quickly as possible while holding onto each other’s canopies. A videographer flies alongside to capture the action.
The team includes David Michael Sands, 47, of Irvine; Kyle Taylor, 40, of Dana Point; Keith Tolley, 40, of San Pedro; Daniel Purdy, 31, of Worthington, Ohio; and Pat Marcanio, 55, of Glendale, Arizona.
