Lake Elsinore USD Announces 7 Assistant Principal Appointments

Four of the new assistant principals were promoted from within the district.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA โ€” Seven people have been appointed to serve as assistant principals in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District for the 2021-22 year, the district announced Thursday.

While more than half of the new assistants were promoted from within the district, others were hired from outside:

Heather Tobler, assistant principal at Ronald Reagan and William Collier elementary schools

Tobler has been an elementary teacher of various grade levels and held an intervention teaching position during her 19-year stint at Railroad Canyon Elementary School. Most recently, Tobler was selected and will be serving as one of the LEUSD's Summer Literacy Camp Administrative designees. Tobler holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development/Early Childhood Education from Pacific Oaks College and a Master of Arts degree in Education from Concordia University.

Andrew Haire, assistant principal at Cottonwood Canyon Elementary School

Haire is currently the assistant principal at Alcott and Madison Elementary Schools in Riverside Unified School District. Before becoming an administrator, he was a special education teacher in Newport Mesa Unified School District. Haire is a proud parent of students that attend LEUSD schools. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in elementary education from Biola University and a Master of Science degree in Special Education from National University.

Enrique Guillen, assistant principal at Terra Cotta Middle School

Guillen has been a Student Support Specialist, Alternative Education Teacher, and most recently, a History teacher in the New Haven Unified School District. He has served in the United States Army and is a Lake Elsinore Unified graduate from Lakeside High School. Guillen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from University California Riverside and a Master of Arts degree in Education from the University of Redlands.

Danielle Greene, assistant principal at David A Brown Middle School

Green has been teaching high school English for 14 years and has been at Lakeside High School since 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with an English Concentration from Cal Baptist University, a Master of Arts degree in Education from Cal Baptist University, and a Masterโ€™s in Educational Leadership from Brandman University.

Joe Dominguez, assistant principal at Lakeside High School

Dominguez has been the assistant principal at Terra Cotta Middle School since 2014. Before LEUSD, he was a principal in the Fallbrook Elementary School District and San Jacinto USD from 2003 to 2014. Most recently, he oversaw discipline at TCMS, where he also implemented and revised the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support model. Dominguez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Vanguard University and a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from National University.

Robert Hayden, assistant principal at Temescal Canyon High School

Hayden has been a science teacher at Lakeside High School since 2011. Before his time at Lakeside, he was a teacher at KMA and Tri-Valley Day School in LEUSD from 2008 to 2011. He has been the Lakeside technology coach, school site department chair, administrative designee, and LEUSD summer literacy principal. Hayden holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton, a Master of Arts degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University, and a Master of Science in Administration from National University.

Heather Thornton, assistant principal at Earl Warren Elementary School

Thornton has been a teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District for 12 years. During that time, she also held various coordinator positions, overseeing several programs such as Title I, Targeted Student Populations, Intervention, and GATE. "Her vast experience will be an asset as she enters administration," according to the LEUSD. Thornton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development from California State University, Northridge, and a Master of Arts degree in Education from Pepperdine University.
