After Public Outcry, Elsinore Woman Returns Dog To Disabled Man
David Guindon was teary-eyed when he reunited with his service dog that went missing two years ago.

WILDOMAR, CA -- A San Bernardino man last week reunited with his service dog, two years after the four-legged friend went missing. The dog was found by a Lake Elsinore woman who previously refused to return the dog to David Guindon.
The Press-Enterprise reported that Guindon was notified the dog was turned into a Wildomar shelter following numerous reports about the service dog named Zeus.
Guindon "was sitting in his motorized wheelchair, eyes shaded by sunglasses, when animal control officers brought the dog in. As Zeus approached, he removed the shades, leaned forward and reached out his right hand," the Press-Enterprise wrote. "Guindon gave Zeus a toy monkey. The dog responded with more licks."

The reunion was a long wait for Guindon.
In an interview with KCAL9, Guindon said his dog went missing in May 2016.

Guindon said he searched for Zeus for days before getting another service dog. Then, a few weeks ago, he received a call from the company that micro-chipped Zeus to say the dog was found in Lake Elsinore.
But the woman refused to return the dog when Guindon called her.
The woman, who wasn't identified, apparently changed her mind following the news reports of Guindon and Zeus and turned the dog into the shelter last Wednesday, the newspaper reported.
The story quickly become a hot topic in the Inland Empire with many responding on social media that the dog needed to be returned to Guindon.
