Major I-15 Crash Blocks Multiple Lanes, Sig Alert Issued

A cement truck crashed and landed on its side on the freeway.

WILDOMAR, CA โ€” Southbound Interstate 15 motorists were experiencing significant delays on Friday morning after a truck crashed in the Wildomar area, near the border with Murrieta.

Preliminary California Highway Patrol logs indicate a tire on a cement mixer may have blown, causing it to crash on the freeway around 7 a.m. The truck, which was full of concrete and fuel, landed on its side.

An ambulance was requested at the crash, but there were no reported injuries.

A small fuel leak was reported and a hazmat team was initially called to the sceneโ€” but called off when the leak was quickly contained, reports show.

Two lanes of the freeway were closed and the shoulder was blocked, according to the CHP and Caltrans. At 7:31 a.m., a SigAlert was issued.

Shortly before 9 a.m., traffic reports indicated a miles-long backup past Bundy Canyon Road into Lake Elsinore.
