Major I-15 Crash Blocks Multiple Lanes, Sig Alert Issued

WILDOMAR, CA — Southbound Interstate 15 motorists were experiencing significant delays on Friday morning after a truck crashed in the Wildomar area, near the border with Murrieta.

Preliminary California Highway Patrol logs indicate a tire on a cement mixer may have blown, causing it to crash on the freeway around 7 a.m. The truck, which was full of concrete and fuel, landed on its side.

An ambulance was requested at the crash, but there were no reported injuries.

A small fuel leak was reported and a hazmat team was initially called to the scene— but called off when the leak was quickly contained, reports show.

Two lanes of the freeway were closed and the shoulder was blocked, according to the CHP and Caltrans. At 7:31 a.m., a SigAlert was issued.

Shortly before 9 a.m., traffic reports indicated a miles-long backup past Bundy Canyon Road into Lake Elsinore.
