Man Dies After Assault, Information Needed to Solve Crime

Lake Elsinore, CA -- A man died early Sunday after reportedly suffering a major head injury, according to authorities.

The man, who has not been identified, was taken to the Inland Valley Hospital late Saturday, after a reported assault on the 27000 block of Highway 74, in the community of Meadowbrook. Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department in Lake Elsinore were called to the hospital to investigate.

After an initial investigation, members from the Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the scene. The investigation is currently ongoing, authorities said.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to family members.
