Man Identified In Deadly Elsinore Hit-And-Run

The man was killed Friday after he was hit by a car on Grand Avenue. The person responsible remains unknown.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA โ€” A man who was killed Friday in a hit-and-run crash in the Lake Elsinore area has been publicly identified. Coroner's officials say he was Shawn Crouch, a local resident. He was 46.

According to CHP Officer Mike Lassig, Crouch was standing on the shoulder of Grand Avenue at Sangston Drive at about 9:15 p.m. Friday when he was hit by someone in a red sedan.

"[The unknown driver] failed to stop and fled the scene," Lassig said. "[Crouch] was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center and was pronounced deceased."

Coroner's reports indicate Crouch died about five hours after he was hit.
