Man Killed In Crash On 91 Freeway ID'd

CORONA, CA — Coroner's officials Sunday publicly identified a 23-year- old Monterey Park man who was killed in a crash on State Route 91 near the Corona-Riverside border.

The solo-vehicle crash occurred at about 3:10 a.m. Friday on the westbound side of the freeway just east of the Interstate 15 transition road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Walter Peralta was driving a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta at an unknown speed when he swerved to the right into a dirt embankment and hit a freeway sign, CHP officials said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
