Metrolink Informing Riders on Health and Safety Measures

Southern California train system remains vigilant in limiting the spread of COVID-19

(Metrolink)

As Memorial Day Weekend kicks off the summer and California heads toward reopening on June 15, Metrolink remains vigilant in limiting the spread of COVID-19. With the increase in planning and travel to local summer destinations, Metrolink is informing riders of its ongoing health and safety measures in place and what to look for from any transit provider such as:

  • Electrostatic Sprayers – Electrostatic spraying is one of the most effective ways to disinfect large indoor spaces or areas with many high-touch surfaces.
  • Antimicrobial Air Filters – State-of-the-art antimicrobial air filters capture and destroy 99.9% of airborne viruses and bacteria on contact.
  • Capacity Checks – Unlike the airlines, Metrolink’s How Full is My Train tool enables riders to check recent train capacity and book tickets at the time when there is plenty of room for social distancing.

Awareness of these safety protocols will provide confidence in the Metrolink train system as families and friends begin to emerge and reacquaint themselves with some of California’s iconic destinations.

For family-friendly travel itineraries that connect you by rail to regional destinations for summer fun and adventure, check out Metrolink’s EXPLORE site.
