Nightly Lane Closures, Detours On I-15 In Lake Elsinore Scheduled

The ongoing construction work is part of the I-15/Railroad Canyon Road interchange project.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA โ€” As construction work on the Interstate 15/Railroad Canyon Road interchange continues in Lake Elsinore, motorists can expect more traffic delays this week.

In addition to daily 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. intermittent lane closures on Grape Street, Summerhill Drive and Railroad Canyon Road, motorists will see intermittent lane closures on southbound I-15 from Main Street to Bundy Canyon Road from 8 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to the Riverside County Transportation Commission. The southbound I-15/Railroad Canyon Road on- and off-ramps will also be impacted with nightly detours.

The ongoing construction work in the area is designed to improve safety and traffic flow by adding lanes, modifying ramps, and building sidewalks and bike lanes along Railroad Canyon Road, according to the Riverside County Transportation Commission.

The $31 million I-15/Railroad Canyon Road interchange project is expected to be completed in late 2022.
