He met his wife Marlene Krippner in St. Augusta upon leaving the Navy, where they were married and started a family (almost one kid a year). The group lived there until 1975-- and then he packed up the family to live in sunny California ... Vista.

Bill worked and owned his own company Patio Systems and later Hommerding Construction HCCM, building many of the Gas Stations including AM/PMs and Shell, to name a few. He was also behind several commercial buildings and restaurants in Southern California.

In 2008, Bill and Marlene and the cat moved to Wildomar.

He loved to fish. Deep-sea fishing on the big ocean or a quiet little lake in Minnesota-- that's what made him happy.

He also love to cook and barbecue, and was pretty famous for his salsa and barbecued beer chicken. (Honestly we think it was more of an excuse to have another beer!)

He loved to spoil his grandkids with candy and ice cream or a little dog named Chica. As all Grandpas should.

He will be missed more then words can say.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ray, mother, Dorothy, brother, Ernie, and his wife of almost 50 years, Marlene. He is survived by his five children: Monica & husband Lino, Scott & girlfriend Jenny, Kim & husband Joey, Debbie & husband Jim, Chad and girlfriend Kelly.

Brothers: Jim, Butch, and Junior.

Twelve Grandchildren: Courtney, Andrew, Chaz, Jacob, Larisa, Brooke, Sarah, Chelsey, Emily, Leah, Brayden, and Toby.

Four Great Grandchildren: Gannon, Tatiana, Audrina, and Kalia.

Memorial services will be held with Honors at Miramar National Cemetery 5795 Nobel Dr. San Diego, California on Friday July, 15 2016 at 2:30 p.m. All family and friends are welcome. There will be a celebration of his life at Kim and Joey's house at 6 p.m.
