Off-Roading Mom Races for Good, Target Data Hacking, 1 Dead in Fire

A Temecula woman who's an off-road racing enthusiast had her life turned upside-down when she took part in a race dedicated to breast cancer awareness. The event prompted her to get checked out—just in time. 

Surviving cancer was especially important the single mom of three teenaged kids. And now, Julie Pierce has founded FORE, a nonprofit organization that is holding a series of charitable off-road Southern California desert races.

“This has been a huge wake-up call, you figure out what is important in life,” Pierce said.

“When God gives you a second chance you want to give back to God, you want to do good things for others. To give back is my primary mission in life right now.”
