Operation Prom Girl- “A Cinderella Story” Is Around The Corner
Wildomar-founded free prom dress program for high school girls with challenging circumstances to be held at Lakeside High School
Operation Prom Girl is a free formal dress program that assists high school girls, military women, and special needs programs. Founded in Wildomar six years ago through a vision by local resident, Dawn Schultz to help a few girls get to prom, the program is now in full bloom and has assisted nearly 1000 women and teens, including special needs programs.
Operation Prom Girl is more than just a dress-it’s an experience whose annual program offers girls with hardships or challenging circumstances an exciting formal dress giveaway. Best of all, it is always free to those who qualify. This year’s event will be held at Lakeside High School in Lake Elsinore on April 13 from 10-3:30 and any high school girl in need may register, regardless of school they are attending. This year’s event theme will be “A Cinderella Story” and will feature lunch, dessert bar, fashion show, hair and makeup workshop by Paul Mitchell Temecula, powerful guest speakers, music, raffles throughout the day, services and resource providers on site, and of course a formal gown and more!
Operation Prom Girl is 100% volunteer-run, and is looking for sponsorships and in-kind donations. We depend on partnership with our local communities each year to provide such an amazing event for the attendees. We also look forward to them taking home a message of love, hope, and encouragement while providing many opportunities throughout the year to attend workshops, events, and offer other services based on the needs of each individual so she can blossom and be all she can be and reach her dreams and aspirations.

Girls who want to attend our program may apply at www.operationpromgirlsocal.com. Capacity limits apply and selection will be based on individual need if capacity limits are reached.
This year we ask all girls who attend the event to bring a new pair of socks to donate upon entry so we can encourage paying it forward. We will then donate the socks to the local needy as we have found that socks are the #1 most needed but least donated items at homeless charitable organizations. It is definitely a community effort, and individuals are blessed at many levels through the Operation Prom Girl program.
