Police Seeking Suspect In Deadly Lake Elsinore Hit-And-Run

Police are seeking a driver accused of fatally striking a 46-year-old man Friday evening just outside of Lake Elsinore.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA โ€” Authorities Saturday were looking for a hit-and-run driver who killed a 46-year-old pedestrian just outside of Lake Elsinore.

The crash occurred at about 9:15 p.m. Friday at Grand Avenue and Sangston Drive in the Lakeland Village area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The male victim was standing on the shoulder of Grand Avenue when he was struck by the front right of a southbound red sedan driven by the male suspect, the CHP said.

The suspect fled the scene, and the victim was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Release of the victim's identity was pending notification of his family.

The suspect's identity and make and model of the suspect vehicle were unknown.
