Propane Tanks Explode In Perris, 1 Person Injured

The cause of the explosions is under investigation.

PERRIS, CA โ€” One person was hospitalized Wednesday with moderate burns from the explosions of two propane tanks in Perris.

Firefighters were called at 10 p.m. Tuesday near the General Mills plant in the 4100 block of Indian Avenue following reports of several explosions, said Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department Battalion Chief Alex Elwad.

"When we arrived on scene, we found two propane tanks, approximately 1,000 gallons each, that were venting off propane," Elwad said. "We quickly confined the fire to the propane tanks."
