$10,000 Raised For Animal Shelters, Including Wildomar's AFV

San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of Southern California’s largest locally-owned financial institutions, raised $10,000 to help support the efforts of the San Diego Humane Society, Animal Friends of the Valleys in Riverside County and the Home Free Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in Orange County this past holiday season with its ninth annual “Presents for Paws” fundraiser. Funds generated from the campaign will be used in part to provide medical care for local shelter animals in need and help educate the community about the importance of adoption and responsible pet ownership. Online donations were collected from December 2020 through January 2021.

“We are proud to once again support local animal shelters and rescues through SDCCU’s Presents for Paws, especially with the need for donations being greater than ever due to many facing hardship as a result of the pandemic,” said Teresa Campbell, SDCCU president and CEO. “The donations from our customers and community help make a world of difference for the sick, stray or surrendered pets these amazing organizations help in our communities.”

As a way to thank our donors, the San Diego Humane Society is hosting a special virtual event, “Inspiring Compassion Together”, featuring Brian Daugherty, senior vice president and chief communications officer at San Diego Humane Society on Friday, February 19 at 12:00 p.m. This special event for the generous supporters of SDCCU’s annual Presents for Paws fundraiser will provide an overview of the incredible, life-changing work that your support makes possible for animals and the people who love them!
