Coroner IDs Motorcyclist Killed On Ortega Highway

The 23-year-old motorcyclist was heading west on the winding road and lost control at the curve just past the Lookout Roadhouse.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA โ€” A motorcyclist who was killed Thursday night in a crash along the Ortega (74) Highway, just west of Lake Elsinore, was likely speeding and lost control of his bike, according to a preliminary report from the California Highway Patrol.

Ahkin Inniss, 23, of Nuevo was heading west on the highway, just past the Lookout Roadhouse, at a speed greater than 50 mph and failed to negotiate the sharp left bend in the road at the Lake Elsinore vista point, according to a report from CHP Officer Mike Lassig.

He swerved into the right dirt shoulder and crashed into a guardrail, causing him to be ejected from his 2008 Yamaha onto the dirt, Lassig reported.
