Thousands of Runners to Get Dirty in Lake Elsinore
Miles-long obstacle courses will be set up this weekend for the 'Terrain SoCal Race.'
LAKE ELSINORE, CA - Up to 2,000 contestants are expected to hurdle walls, swim ponds and slog through mud flats in the "Terrain SoCal Race" in Lake Elsinore Saturday.
The event, sponsored by Phoenix-based Terrain Racing, gets underway about 8 a.m. at Storm Stadium.
Participants will have the option of competing in 5 K and 10 K races, according to organizers.

The obstacle courses will be studded with 6-foot bare walls, 12-foot rope walls, cargo nets, swimming holes and mud-caked fields, organizers said.
Contestants can enter in teams or individually. Runs will be released in waves every quarter-hour until 1 p.m. for spacing.
