No arrests have been made.

A sheriffโ€™s sergeant Wednesday confirmed the identity of a 32- year-old man killed in a weekend shooting between rival biker gangs on Interstate 15, south of Corona.

Frankie Varela of Corona died at a hospital Saturday following the 6:30 p.m. shooting between members of the Hells Angels and the Mongols motorcycle clubs on southbound I-15 near the El Cerrito Road off-ramp, Riverside County sheriffโ€™s Sgt. Mike Manning said.

No arrests have been made, but the investigation is continuing, he said.

A second man was shot and was treated at a hospital. A third person suffered an undisclosed injury and was treated and released, sheriffโ€™s authorities said.

Friends and relatives of Varela told the Riverside Press-Enterprise that he was not a member of the Mongols but simply enjoyed riding with friends who were in the club.
