Watercraft Mishap On Lake Elsinore Leaves 2 Hospitalized

Firefighters used a city-owned boat to retrieve three people from the water, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA โ€” Three people were left stranded when their jet ski capsized Monday in Lake Elsinore, requiring firefighters to launch a rescue boat to retrieve them from the water.

The mishap involving a Sea-Doo watercraft occurred about noon in the middle of the lake, directly south of the marina on Riverside Drive, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. The jet ski overturned, dumping the three occupants into the lake, where they remained with the upside-down vessel as it floated.

A Lake Elsinore public works crew witnessed what happened and called 911, according to reports from the scene.

Firefighters used a city-owned boat to retrieve the trio from the water, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

Two of the victims โ€” a child and an adult โ€” were hospitalized with minor injuries, the agency reported. The third person was evaluated by paramedics at the scene but declined further treatment.
