Daylight Saving Time Ends: Set Clocks Back One Hour

Cal Fire/ Riverside County Fire is reminding the public to not only change their clocks this weekend, but to change their smoke alarm batteries, too.

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, at which point the clocks are turned back by one hour.

As Daylight Saving Time comes to an end this weekend, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire offiicials are reminding residents that it's also time to check smoke alarms.

"The presence of working smoke alarms in the home can mean the difference between life and death," ย said Riverside County Fire Chief, John R. Hawkins. ย "I urgeย residents to use the beginning and ending of daylight saving time as a reminder to check your smoke alarms andย replace faulty or broken ones. ย

"Always replace the batteries in each alarm on every floor of the home and testย them to ensure they are in working order," the chief continued. "Smoke detectors, when installed and tested regularly, are designed toย alert you and your loved ones in the event of a fire."
