30-Year OCSD Veteran Deputy Passes Away
Deputy Stan Bulle, retired vet of the Orange County Sheriff's Department has passed away.
LAKE FOREST, CA — The Orange County Sheriff's Department shared the news that a beloved retired deputy, Stanley Bulle, 75, passed away Saturday, May 11, after dealing with a number of health problems and treatments.
Deputy Bulle (pronounced BYOO-lee) served the Orange County Sheriff’s Department for 30 years. Bulle retired in 1998 as a patrol officer in the Tustin/Santa Ana area.
Stan’s wife and longtime best friend shared some of Stan’s memorable moments with us from his time in the department, including an encounter involving “In Cold Blood” author, Truman Capote.

Stan even performed in an OCSD band back in the 1970s called “Hot Pursuit.”
In retirement, Stan enjoyed playing golf, working on computers and even building his own computer, playing online poker and “puttering around the house.”

Deputy Bulle is survived by his wife of nearly 38 years, Katherine, his two adult children from his first marriage, Carol and Jason, five grandchildren, along with a number of great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
A “Hail and Farewell” ceremony is planned to honor Stan this Friday, May 17, 2019 at 2 p.m. It will be held at a residential clubhouse located at:
