405 Freeway SigAlert: Tire Blowout Causes Crash In Irvine

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — The California Highway Patrol has issued a SigAlert for the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Irvine.

A van suffered a tire blowout Saturday afternoon and crashed into the center divider before coming to a stop in the carpool lane of the freeway just south of University Drive, according to the CHP. The crash occurred just after noon, and authorities estimate that the SigAlert will last until just before 1 p.m.

Commuters are advised to avoid the area.
