5 Things To Know About Disneyland Reopening

ANAHEIM, CA — All California theme parks now have a roadmap to reopening after a year of shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

While Disneyland Resort officials have yet to release an official re-opening date for the Southern California theme park, guests anxiously await the chance to return to the happiest place on earth.

Many details will be worked out in the coming weeks, but here's what we know so far about Disneyland's reopening:

1. When Will Disneyland Reopen?

April 30, 2021.

2. Who Can Visit Disneyland This Spring?

Only California residents will be allowed at the parks until Orange County reaches the orange and yellow tiers of the Blueprint for a Safer Economy.

Small groups, with a maximum of 10 people, or 3 household groups, may attend the resort together while the county is in the red tier.

Once the county moves into the less restrictive orange tier, capacity can be raised to 25 percent of park capacity. Outdoor attractions can open, and advanced reservations will be required but only California residents are allowed to attend in the orange tier.

Once the county returns to the yellow tier, the capacity to Disneyland will increase to 35 percent — and the park will open up for visitors from places outside of California.

3. How Can You Get Tickets To Disneyland?

Tickets will be available for sale online-only, for California residents, until further notice.

Tickets will likely also be available via the Disneyland App and park reservations will be required, as is the current case at Walt Disney World, Shanghai Disney, and other Disney properties.

Avengers Campus — a new land where guests can "live their Super Hero dreams" is set to open at a later date.

5. New Health And Safety Measures In Place At Disneyland Resort

When you go, expect temperature checks at the gate, social distancing throughout the park, and limited-contact enhancements, a resort spokesperson says.

There are mandatory face coverings for park workers and guests alike.

Hand-washing stations, physical barriers, new queue setups, and "new types of character interaction" are expected.

Enhanced cleaning and sanitation will be visible throughout the parks.
