Anaheim Ducks Showcase Wild Wing Jerseys On Tribute Night

The Ducks were to warm up, Thursday night, in one of the most unique jerseys in NHL history which was worn in four games in 1995-96.

ANAHEIM, CA — The Anaheim Ducks were scheduled to wear their Wild Wing "Breakout" jerseys during pregame warm-ups Thursday evening in the third Jersey Tribute Night, according to release. The wearing of the cartoon rendering the mascot Wild Wing breaking through the ice is in celebration of the Ducks 25th anniversary.

The Wild Wing jerseys were worn four times during the 1995-96 season. It was the team's first third jersey -- a nontraditional jersey supplementing the home and away jersey.

Autographed player-worn warm-up jerseys will be sold in the Anaheim Ducks Team Store, with two jerseys to be auctioned online to benefit the Anaheim Ducks Foundation.

Bobby Dollas, a defenseman who played for the then-Mighty Ducks of Anaheim during their first five seasons, was scheduled to participate in a ceremonial faceoff before the game against the New York Rangers at Honda Center and sign autographs during the second intermission.

The third limited edition 25th anniversary Tribute Night poster will be available at the Anaheim Ducks Team Store. It features Wild Wing from the 1995-96 season third jersey. A very limited quantity of the posters will be signed by Dollas.
