CHP Pursues Driver From LA Into Orange County, 1 Woman Arrested

California Highway Patrol officers attempted to stop a small silver sedan for speeding in LA after a woman refused to pull over.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — Authorities arrested a woman who led officers on a chase on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway from Los Angeles County to the Laguna Niguel area in Orange County.

The woman, seen driving a small silver sedan, evaded officers as they followed her from the 405 at Rosecrans in Los Angeles into South Orange County along the 405 Freeway.

The pursuit began at approximately 6:30 a.m. near the Long Beach airport when officers attempted to pull over the driver for speeding, according to media reports.

The driver reached speeds of 90 miles per hour ultimately slowed and exited the 405 near the El Toro "Y" and headed onto city streets.

California Highway Patrol Officers laid out a spike strip at some point, managing to deflate the car's front left tire in advance of the car's exit from the freeway.

She exited from the 405 onto city streets on Paseo De Valencia and El Toro Road in Lake Forest and was ultimately boxed in by officers at Alicia Parkway and Highland Avenue in Laguna Niguel.

She was arrested without incident, CHP reports.

The media has reported the car is registered to an Ontario driver. As of this report, her name and city of residence have not yet been released.
