City Of Lake Forest: Lake Forest Mourns Loss Of Jim Rosenberg

The City of Lake Forest today mourns the loss of Jim Rosenberg, who served the City as a Community Services Commissioner for more than 20 years.

Since joining the then-Parks and Recreation Commission in 1999, Rosenberg and the other commissioners participated in the planning of the Etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest, the Lake Forest Sports Park and Recreation Center, and the senior Clubhouse at the Lake Forest Civic Center. Rosenberg also volunteered beyond his Commission service: He was the voice of Santa Claus to scores of children in the City’s “Calls from the North Pole” program, a former AYSO coach and referee and current Chairman of the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce. 

Rosenberg, an Army veteran, also spearheaded the Lake Forest USMC Support Committee, which adopted the 1st Law Enforcement Battalion at Camp Pendleton.

“The greatest thing about Lake Forest is the amazing people and passionate volunteers – and Jim Rosenberg is the best example of that,” Mayor Scott Voigts said. “Jim was always passionate about the City and Community Services and brought that enthusiasm to every project, every event. Lake Forest is a better City because of him and he will truly be missed.”

The City Council adjourned Tuesday's meeting in Rosenberg's honor.
