Coming Attractions: Jon Lovitz, Disney Maniacs and Beer

1. Comedy: SNL alum Jon Lovitz will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at the Improv at the Irvine Spectrum.

2. Lovely Rita: If you're a fan of cold custard and/or you just like vertical green stripes, you may want to know about Orange County's first Rita's location. The dessert shop with an East Coast cult following opened its first Orange County outpost in the Kaleidoscope center off Crown Valley Parkway in Mission Viejo. 

3. Quirky day alert: Monday is Beer Day. We think you can figure out how to celebrate.

4. Don't Cry for Me, Lake Forest: A free showing of “Evita” and several animated shorts are on the bill for Monday’s outdoor movie night at the Segerstrom Arts Center in Costa Mesa. Find details on the dusk series here.

5. For Disney nuts: D23, a three-day convention for fans of all things Disney, kicks off Friday with various previews and discussions about The Walt Disney Co. and its affiliated theme parks, films, TV shows and other products and services. D23 will also feature appearances by the casts of Disney Channel shows, an exclusive screening of the new film "Planes," a behind-the-scenes look at the famous "Mary Poppins" and more.
