D.A. to Fight for Lake Forest Sex Offender Ban

The O.C. district attorney's representative plans to talk to the City Council tonight before it gives final approval to repealing a law that bans registered sex offenders from city parks.

Susan Kang Schroeder, the Orange County district attorney's chief of staff, will try tonight to get the Lake Forest City Council to reverse its plan to dump a law banning registered sex offenders from city parks.

Earlier this month, citing the high cost of defending the measure in court, the council voted to end the ban, which is similar to one the county passed in April 2011.

The council is set to give final approval to the repeal, but Schroeder will attend the council meeting in support of the law.
