'Disney Wish' Cruise Ship Dazzles In Design: Take A Look Inside

ANAHEIM, CA — Fans of Disney Cruiselines, get ready to set sail on the Disney Wish. The newest in the fleet of cruise ships, Disney Wish promises to enchant and excite those who are true fans of all things Disney.

The Disney Wish will sail its maiden voyage — a five-night cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay — in June of 2022. That trip will be followed by an inaugural season of three and four-night cruises to the same destinations from Port Canaveral, Florida.

"When the Disney Wish sets sail in summer 2022, families will discover a mesmerizing new world created especially for them: a celebration of Disney’s rich legacy of enchanting storytelling that brings to life the fantastical worlds and beloved characters at the heart of Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars adventures like never before."

Parents and those traveling without young ones can enjoy a little bit of luxury at the Quiet Cove pool, set apart from the action that is at midship. Meanwhile, kids can take a ride on the newly imagineered ride the AquaMouse.

From a water ride, the first-ever Disney attraction on a cruise ship, to royal Arendele celebrations in the Frozen theatrical dining experience, this ship is basically a floating Disney theme park with all of the elegant trimmings.

Avengers will also play a part both with the Oceaneers Kids Club activities and the cinematic Avengers on a Marvel dining adventure.

Star Wars-themed cantina complete with ILM movie screens will transform the cruise ship into a space ship, taking guests into a galaxy far, far away in a first-of-its-kind Star Wars experience.

"This is a place you can dress up as your favorite Star Wars-themed character, and extend the magic for all guests inside," an Imagineer said during Thursday's news conference.

Staterooms include the Princess Suites, such as the Princess Aurora Suite.

One can imagine spending quality time on board in such luxury, as with the attached en suite bath.

Other rooms are equally as luxurious, including the verandah suites.

All are appointed with magical enchanted murals, and all of the modern accommodations one would expect, including the outer and inner staterooms (minus the porthole window).

Josh D’Amaro, chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, spoke on the thoughts behind the enchanting design Thursday.

“With the Disney Wish, we’re continuing our tradition of delivering the most magical and relaxing vacations at sea, combining legendary service and entertainment with imaginative storytelling and all the care you expect from a Disney vacation,” D'Amaro said. “Our newest ship will celebrate everything that families love about sailing with us, from the incredible dining experiences and character interactions to dazzling shows and the crew’s thoughtful attention to detail. We can’t wait to welcome our guests aboard the Disney Wish as we expand the reach of our world-class fleet.”
