Downtown Disney, California Adventure Dining Open For Valentine's
Disneyland Resort visitors now have the joy of the park's specialized treats as restaurants are now open just in time for Valentine's Day.
ANAHEIM, CA — Downtown Disney welcomes visitors back in February, now that sit-down restaurants can go back to business. Reservations are now open at the Disneyland Website for those who wish to eat at resort restaurants, such as Naples Ristorante, Uva Bar & Cafe, Tortilla Jo's, Ballast Point Brewing Co., and Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen.
Disneyland Resort most recently suffered a span of restaurant closures after almost a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. In December, California state officials levied a secondary stay-at-home order, shutting down restaurants and in-restaurant dining across the state. While that mandate was lifted, it's taken a bit for large-scale operations, such as Disneyland, to return to service.
Over 230 food and beverage employees were recalled one week ago by the resort, and workers of the Workers United 50 union have responded. The park expects recalling 400 more employees to return to work in the coming months. The Union disclosed that 71 Carthay Circle employees, 138 Smokejumpers Grill and Award Wieners employees, and 23 cart vendor workers would be recalled in the new reopening.

The lover's holiday is a favorite at the parks, though things continue to look different. Masks are still required, and there is no eating or drinking on the go while at Downtown Disney. Still, it's a win, according to the resort.
"It's time to fall in love with Downtown Disney," a spokesperson said. "You'll find goodies that steal your heart, just the right match for your culinary craving, something special for your loved ones, plus outdoor dining and dining reservations, all in time for Valentine's Day."

On Feb. 5, outdoor dining will return at Buena Vista Street, from Carthay Circle Lounge - Alfresco Dining to Smokejumpers Cafe and Award Wieners, the resort reports.

Though the Earl Of Sandwich, Salt & Straw, Black Tap Craft Burgers all had "to-go" orders during the shutdown, many told Patch that it just "wasn't the same" not being able to eat while at the parks. Now, outdoor tables are once again made available as all on-site food consumption restrictions have eased.
