Ducks Are In The Playoffs And Tickets On Sale Thursday

It's time to paint it orange! the Anaheim Ducks have clinched their playoff spot. This will be their 6th consecutive playoff bid.

ANAHEIM, CA — The Anaheim Ducks are headed back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the sixth season in a row, the second longest streak in the history of the National Hockey League. After defeating the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday night--along with the St. Louis Blues loss to the Blackhawks of Chicago, Anaheim heads to post season play.

Anaheim holds the third place position in the Pacific, according to the NHL, with 97 points. That's a mere one point ahead of the Los Angeles Kings. Fans eagerly await the playoff schedule which will be announced by the NHL in the next few days. Two more regular season games remain on the schedule, including Fan Appreciation Night on Friday vs. the Dallas Stars, and a final game of the regular season on Saturday, vs. the Arizona Coyotes at the Gila River Arena.

The Ducks planned an unofficial "Drive to the Playoffs" celebration for their journey back to the playoffs with fans all across SoCal.

On Thursday, fans had the opportunity to win Ducks home playoff tickets, a trip for two to a road playoff game that includes airfare, hotel and game tickets. For kids, a Paint it Orange activity, Wild Wing, Power Players with an appearance by the Street Team, DJ music and more fun filled activities:

At the following locations from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday:

South: Outlets at San Clemente
Central: The Market Place in Tustin
Northwest: Wahoo's in Long Beach
Inland Empire: Vons in Riverside
