LAKE FOREST, CA — National Prescription Drug Takeback Day is Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. across Orange County. Your nearest takeback location is the Mission Viejo City Hall, Laguna Woods City Hall, or Rancho Santa Margarita City Hall, according to the DEA website.

The national event, sponsored by the DEA is to help families dispose of unwanted and expired prescription medications safely, in a free and anonymous way, no questions asked.

"Please take this opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted and expired prescription medication," Orange County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Carrie Braun says. "Don't let your medicine cabinet be the source of drugs for anyone."
