Gusty Winds in OC Forecast Through Thursday

The National Weather Service expects gusts of up to 40 mph in some areas.

Gusty winds are expected for much of Orange County through Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued a wind advisory that will be in effect until 10 p.m. Thursday.

Winds on the coast, Santa Ana Mountains and the foothills are expected to be strongest late Wednesday morning and then Wednesday evening through early Thursday afternoon. By Friday, the winds should be weaker.

Wind gusts—mostly in the mountains and foothills—of up to 40 mph are forecast.

The weather service issues advisories when winds of at least 35 mph are expected. It reminds residents that during that time, driving can be extra difficult, especially for "high-profile" vehicles.
