Heart Wren-ching Feline Friday Feel Good Story

This little kitty has a whole new lease on life after he was adopted earlier this year. See how kitten "Wren" has blossomed in his new home.

Pet lovers know that watching a shelter pet go to their fur-ever home is one of the best feelings out there. The Orange County Animal Care shelter loves to share happy stories about adoptions that go right.

Most recently, they shared the story of Elvis, a kitten adopted from Orange County Animal Care in April of 2018. The cat has a new life and a new name, and a family that loves to share his progress with the people who saved his life, first through foster care and second, through adoption.

Here is what his new family had to say about their latest addition three months after they brought him home.

"Elvis, formerly named Wren, was adopted when he was 9 weeks old on April 27th," a representative from OC Animal Care said. Elvis lived in foster care prior to his adoption.

His new family says that his previous home, his fosters, did "a fabulously wonderful job of nurturing [him] to the point where he loves human companionship."

According to OC Animal Care, the Mandelberg family has stayed in touch, sharing adorable photos of Elvis.

"They keep us updated with how he is doing," OCAC said.

According to Elvis's family, their kitty is "independent, runs the household now consisting of one Goldendoodle, two female mature felines (Ruby and Frankie) and three humans, they said, adding their thanks to the OCAC "for this fabulous marvelous creature!"

Free pet adoptions are still in effect, according to OCAC. The temporary fee waiver will remain in action until the shelter population is below 60 percent.
