At Home Superstore Celebrates Grand Opening In Orange County

LAKE FOREST, CA — California's new home decor behemoth At Home will open it's doors on Friday in a "soft open" with the 85,000 square foot superstore.

"Orange County is a great place to launch" At Home, says CEO Lewis Lee Bird. Inside, the home-furnishing warehouse will sell over 50,000 products, many non-branded items, and sure to become an industry price leader for home decor.

The Texas based chain whose motto is "endless possibilities for every budget" is identified as in the same vein as HomeGoods or Pier 1, but roughly the size of Costco. There will be 80 stores in California by the time they are done expanding, according to the offices.

Decor is divided in styles of modern and contemporary, glam, traditional, boho chic, rustic/farmhouse or nautical. Outdoor living

"It's fabulous," a Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce representative said. "They're bringing jobs, shopping experiences and more to the South Orange County area."

This is the first store for At Home in California, and they have brought in nearly 100 jobs to the area.

"New employees are from the area, and won't have far to commute," Mary Visconte, CEO of the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce said. "The city is excited to have them join us."

Elected officials will be on hand for photo opportunities and to welcome

At Home Southern California expansion includes Long Beach, Temecula and Riverside — all by the end of 2019, the company told the Orange County Register.

California has a "great economy, fantastic taste, and residents who love to decorate," according to Bird. "We can be their value option."

When they are finished the at home stores will be filled with wall hangings, lamps and lights, patio decor and more.
