Lake Forest Girl Scouts find new home for holiday Gift Wrapping

Pushed out of the location they've used for 15 years, they have relocated to Grocery Outlet thanks to generous business owner

For the past 15 years, the Girl Scouts had been a fixture near the Best Buy in Mission Viejo during holiday weekends. But this year, the property management told them there was only room for one gift-wrapping youth program on site -- run by the Boy Scouts -- so they would have to move.

Teenage Girl Scouts use a Gift Wrapping program to raise funds needed for travel and other programs. They take turns working shifts on holiday weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas, wrapping gifts in exchange for donations from customers.

Luckily for the Girl Scouts, Lake Forest business owners Joel Collar and Paul Ah Sing heard about the girls' plight and offered them a space in front of their business, Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, at 22475 El Toro Road in Lake Forest.

The Girl Scouts will be at their new location beginning Saturday, Dec. 1. They invite busy holiday shoppers to come with a few (or a full trunk) of presents that they will wrap on site. Paper and bows are provided.
